Halloween crafting

Hello everyone.

Hope you all are having a wonderful week. I have been crazy busy in my craft room. I have been working on Halloween.

I created a mini album made up of wood pieces, 2 chunky charms,  altered some clothes pins and made a card. I am not a card maker at all, I am horrible at it, but have been wanting to make some so I thought no more excuses.

In the Holiday Spirit

Hello everyone, I know it has been a long time since I post.

I hope you all have been having a wonderful summer and ready for the Fall and Holiday seasons. I know I am.

Here are some of the layouts I have been working on. I found the images online and knew that I wanted them to paper piece. I have had so much fun with the images.

Hope you all like them as much as I liked piecing them.

I started with a Fall one.

Then I made this Halloween one that I think is my favorite.

 Love her hat. I used glitter paper and added stars to it. The original image had a cat on her lap, but it was not looking right whenever I tried piecing it so I decided to add a pumpkin instead. I am still on the hunt for a sticker cat or a cat that might look nice to add and take the pumpkin out.

Then I made this Christmas one.

Don't you just love her foot side ways and the pom pom on her hat. I used a large pom pom from Joanns, cut it in half and glued it down on a circle cardstock.

This is the next one I did, very Spring like. I used the DCWV paper stack called Collage Art. It is a beautiful paper pack. I was hoarding it for the right time and this girl image was perfect for it.

 Don't you just love those big brown eyes. I used chalk. The lady bug she is holding I purchased at a chinese warehouse that sells party supplies. They had a bin with little things like this for cakes and cupcakes and everything was 10 for 1.00. The package brought 6 inside and I could not believe how perfect it was for this layout, the size of the eyes match hers.

Her hair was the most difficult part to create. I was more than 2 hours making it and could not get it the way I wanted until I threw it all away and started over. At the end I think the curls came out great. Don't you just love the flowers in her hair. So Spring and girly like. I am sure we all have put flowers in our hairs one way or another when we were younger.

Lastly, Oh Christmas Tree. She is holding a garland in her hands with some small metal Christmas ornaments. I bought them at a yard sale last year for 25 cents. I thought they were perfect for this layout. I cut the tree and the title using my cricut. I decorated the tree with bling from my stash. The presents are stickers by Jolee.

I also used chalk on her for the eyes as well.  I think the big eyes make these images so cute. I also love the feet she designs side ways.

Altered spool and Junking finds

Hello everyone,

Hope everyone has been having a wonderful summer. It is extremely hot and humid here in South Florida. Lots of rain almost everyday, but that has not stopped me from going junking and finding some nice things to display in my craft room and to use to craft.

 Isn't this cross beautiful. I bought it for $1.00 at a yard sale. I will put it where I have all my others displayed.

 Then I found at the same yard sale this heart pendant with the chain, also $1.00. I thought it was so delicate looking I just could not leave it behind. The 2 pieces of lace, the cross and heart are laying on are from the flea market. I paid 1.00 for each piece.

These 3 milk glass jugs are also from a yard sale. The lady had sold her home and was selling most of her belongings. She was an elderly lady. I had seen them on saturday, but walked away and did not buy them. Well yesterday on our way to walk at the park, she was out their again and I noticed they had not sold, so I figured they were meant for me to have. Also, 1.00 for all 3. They had plastic lids on them, but I threw those away.

These 2 milk glass pieces are also from the same yard sale. She had them in a plastic bag, both for 50 cents. I could not believe it. I immediately snatched them. I have been looking for some milk glass pieces and could not find any. The antique mall has pieces, but they are super duper expensive. I have bought most of the pieces I have on ebay and although they have been cheap, the shipping is killing me. I pay more for shipping than for the actual pieces.

 I am storing some of my pretty nail polishes in the smaller one and the larger one is empty for now until I take some of my hoarded crafting things out to place in it.

And last but not least, here is the altered spool tassel I made. I watched several videos on youtube ad loved what others were doing with the spools. So here is my take on it.

Playing with Martha Stewart punch

Hello bloggers,

I have been busy playing in my craft room. Here is one of the things I have been enjoying. I purchased this Martha Stewart butterfly punch a few months ago. Ever since I have used it almost everyday. How you may ask, well I don't throw away any scraps of paper that are left from my layouts or altered projects. I simply punch out butterflies and put them in a bowl.

This morning at 5am after preparing my husbands lunch for work and making him breakfast, I sat down and started gluing the 2 butterflies together. I have since made 107 butterflies. My husband just laughed at me and said what in the world will you do with all those butterflies, but I do have something in mind, just not sure when it will get done. I have put it on my to do list.

Some pretty things

Here are some pretty things I have added to my craft room. I hope you all like it.

 Fabrics I purchased recently at Joann's to make flowers with. For now they will sit pretty on this milk glass dish my sister purchased for me. I wrapped the fabrics with a piece of tulle and tied a bow.

 This pretty dish I found at TJ Maxx. I wrapped this pretty trim that Evelyn gifted me with and added some pretty roses I made (see picture below) a broach from Tammy and a flower from Alease.

 This bowl holds some glass flower buttons and some magnets from Micheal's 1.50 bin.

My latest Tattoo

Yes, I got another one.

I had been wanting to get another tattoo, but my husband is not for them at all. I am not a freak nor do I like to have them all over, but don't mind a couple of them as long as they are not too visible. So his daughter asked him to go with her to have hers done, so we did. I was so excited, I said to myself for sure I will make an appointment for mine right there and then. Well the guy had a spot and was able to do mine as well. you may wonder, why a spider web. Well I was married on Halloween and knew that I wanted something that represented that holiday and also knew I wanted it behind my neck. My hair is long and most of the time it will be covered anyhow. I am still going to go back and put the year on it that we were married. I could not remember the year for the life of me. I know, bad, but it is the truth. My husband and I had been together for so long before we were married that I could not remember. I knew it was either 2008 or 2009 but could not remember. It was 2008 that we were married.

Here is the rough draft.

 Here I am on the chair going through pain. Yes it is painful. You feel like a burning pain. After all they are tearing your skin and inking it.

 AS you can see in this picture, the blood on the spider webs and the redness of the burning.

This is the finished tattoo. You can see the bruising between the 2 spider webs. He incorporated oranges and purples. When I go back he will be connecting the spider to the web and adding the date to the heart.
