Another mini

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone has had a great week and is ready for the weekend. I know I am. I am having some renovations done in my laundry room. Thank goodness. I love doing laundry and ironing but did not have the prettiest room around. It was very functional but I wanted it to look nice as well. So my husband has put his skills to work and he has been working on it this week and will continue on the weekend.

OK, back to the reason for my post. The reason for my post is to share another mini I have just finished. I started it on Saturday or maybe Sunday and finished it last night. I did not work on it for long, just an hour here and there. I used the butterfly garden collection from pinkpaislee. Love that collection. I also used the DCWV Mariposa collection for some of the matts and tags. I used a Tim Holtz album that Kathryn gave me. And then some of my embellishments from my stash. To get the crackle effect on the chipboard front and back covers I used rangers crackle paint, but the cracks were super tiny and hated it. So I watched Terrie's video on youtube: (onecraftycookie), and loved how the cracks came out. So I left the original paint I used, applied elmers glue on top let that dry alittle and then added white acrylic pain. The crack scame out great. Super nice and alot cheaper than using the rangers crackle paint.

Here is the album. I hope you all like it. I will be selling this one as well as all the others I have. I have not posted the other bib one I made because I do not want to bore you all with another bib album.

This is the front cover.
Here are the charms I hung from the album. Most of them are butterflies. Tied some bows from the rings using tulle.
The bigger flowers were white, but I used my glimmer mist (3 different covers) to get the color I wanted.
I used seam binding to hold closed the album.
When you open the front cover this is what you will find. It is perfect for journaling. I outlined it with some golden yellow color pearls and added a butterfly.
This first page I only added some butterflies I cut with my spellbinders. The paper was so pretty that I did not want to cover it.

This is the last page. I made a booklet for 8 pictures. It opens from the left, the right and then up and down. I saw the video on youtube, (sherrywolfe) the video with the mini purse shows the booklet.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and don't forget to leave a comment. I love reading them.

4 things

Good morning,

Here are some things I have been up to. On my last post I spoke about Sebastian. I asked for everyone to please create a card for him. I did not create a card for him, instead a created a banner. Each letter has an animal. I thought this would look cute in his hospital room. Maybe when he is ready to go home the nurses can sign it for him. It is long since his name has 9 letter.

Here it is:

I have also just purchased a gumball machine. I first saw this in Paula's blog. http://www.morethanfavors.blogspot.com/. She had bought one on ebay and I loved it. Then Marlene from http://www.uniquelyella.blogspot.com/, bought one while junking as she calls it. She paid only $5.00. When I saw hers I knew I wanted one and I wanted it pink. Well, this last Saturday while going to garage sales, we saw an estate sale. Little did I know that there would be one there for me. My husband called me in the house and showed it to me. They wanted $2.00. I was more than happy to pay them for it. I came home and with a little paint this is what it looks like now. I did not take pictures of it before, but it was red.

I am still debating what to put in it. It does work but I have put a white cardboard cover on the bottom so that whatever I decide to put in it does not go down. What do you think I should put inside? Besides gumballs or any candy. That's what hubby thinks I should put inside. I thought flowers, buttons or acrylic bobbles, since I have so many of them.

I am happy to also say that I have finally won something. I have never won a prize on the internet through a blog or youtube giveaway. I just leave comments, without expecting anything. Well,  Damaris from: http://www.atstudiod.blogspot.com/, had a giveaway on youtube and I was one of the winners.
Here are the goodies I received.

This tag is gorgeous. She sent it to me with a really nice note. She has really pretty cards she makes almost daily. THANK YOU DAMARIS, for sending me such a nice box of goodies.

And lastly, I have finally broken down (go that from Damaris) and bought a smash book. I remember having these in junior high and high school. I also have one of when my husband and I dated, 9 years before we officially were married. So now that I have one I have been taking pictures of things we do and keeping things of places we go. First place was the movies on Sunday to see The Vow. I will share and post pictures of my pages as I get them together. I will be back to Michael's to buy some more things like the tapes and the date gadget.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to share what I have been up to lately. I also finished on Sunday the other bib mini, but have not taken pictures of it. Will do that soon.

Hope you all are having a great Thursday.

card drive

Good mroning blogger friends.

I come to you this morning asking for a big, huge favor. As I was commenting this morning on someones blog I decided to click on some one elses and came across a message.

But as I read this on the other blog I noticed there was a link to another blog. Long story short (after 4 different blogs) I came across this post http://gingershouse.blogspot.com/2012/02/cards-for-sebastian.html .

Please take the time to read this wonderful post about this amazing little man named Sebastian.

Once you have read his story, you will want to make not 1, not 2 but many cards for him.

Great, Nope Wonderful

What a wonderful weekend I have had. Nothing big done but just nice and happy weekend. I could literally say my weekend was full of laughter and smiles. Happy times.

Though I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan (have been since I was a little girl), and sadden that they were not the ones who went to the Super Bowl, I am extremely happy that the New York Giants won. WOO HOO. Good for Eli Manning.

OK, on another note and the real reason for my posting today is that I have finished the Bib mini. I actually finished it last week on Thursday but had not posted it. I was waiting until today to do so. I had first seen this mini on Sharon's blog at http://smscrapperdesigns.blogspot.com/. Check out her blog and see her amazing creations. I knew when I saw it I had to have it. I guess I have to have them all. LOL. I did scraplift alot of her ideas. I thought she had some great pages and wanted them on mine. I have to be fair and give her the credit she well deserves.

Here is the mini:

The left page has a flap tied with the orange seam binding that opens for 2 photos. The right side has a couple of matts that slide out from behind the flower.
Here I have created a small booklet that opens for more photos. The right side I kept simple for only one photo.
 Close up of the booklet
I loved this left page. I guess I love the flower. Behind the lace are some photo matts. On the right side are 2 pockets which each hold 2 tags for photos and journaling.

This flower was off white and I glimmer misted using a brown and for some reason came out like a rustic color. Love the color. I added a piece of my lace scraps and glued it down to hold the matts for photos.
This last page I only added a flower. I have been hoardering these flowers that are made with like t-shrit material for years now. I finally had the courage to use them. I hoard alot of my things. But plan on changing this year and using what I have.
Love adding charms to my minis. I have a blue piece of tulle that is tied into a bow. And 2 strips of blue seam binding. Then this big chunky charm. The charm has 2 bobbles one pink and one clear, a chunky heart, a really cute girl and a pretty butterfly.

Well there it is. I hope you all like it. If any of you are interested in any of my albums, you may contact me for a price. I do not have an etsy store nor ebay store. I don't even have a pay pal account open, but we can work something out.

Thank for stopping by and hope you all have a wonderful Monday and rest of the week.

Tea Pot Mini

Good morning everyone.

I had seen this tea pot mini on http://cynthialoowho.blogspot.com/ and loved it. I called our local scrap store and was told that they had ordered the die but had not received it yet. I attended a friday night crop with 2 friends and saw the die. I immediately bought chipboard and cut it out. The only problem was that I had not taken any paper collections except what I was working on which were the elves. Luckily Peggy from http://icrea8cards.blogspot.com/, had taken some goodies to share with us. The paper line I used she had given to Paula from http://www.morethanfavors.blogspot.com/, but Paula gave it to me when she saw the mini cut out. She thought that it would look great with the tea pot. She was right. Thank you Ms. Paula and Ms. Peggy for sharing.  I started the mini last thursday when I met Peggy at the scrap store. I finished the mini on sunday. It took me 4 days to finish it on and off.

Here is the mini completed.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend.
