Bad weather

We just had a horrible storm pass us by this afternoon. Hail and all. The alarm on the cars kept going off, how annoying. But the post is not only about the bad weather but about the birds mom leaving and the babies being all alone. It wasn't only raining hard but very windy and on top of it hail. My husband and I went outside and when we noticed she had left her nest we brought down the hanging basket and out them under the patio. They were trembling so bad. I felt so bad for them. I wanted to bring them in and put them under a light so they can get warm. No, I did not touch them. As soon as the storm passed we put them back where they were. We sat outside for about an hour and she still has not come back to the nest. I really hope that she does not abandon the babies, but if she does we have got a plan for these birdies. I pray that she does come back and takes care of them. They do not have much more time in the nest. They are almost ready to fly. Here is the latest picture I took of them.

Look at how wet they are. They were soaked and trembling.
Before we hung up the basket, I placed food in the white container and water. No, I did not touch any part of the nest.

Baby birdies

I can't believe how big the babies are. They are already flapping their wings. I guess they are almost ready to fly away. I am so sad that they will be gone soon. But what an incredible experience.
I will now leave you with these amazing pictures.

The top 3 pictures were taken this morning. For the past few days I have been wanting to see the babies but she would not leave the nest. This was the closest I was able to get to take a picture of them. BUT....

BUT... this afternoon at around 5:30pm when I was going to exercise I see the babies out and moving. I ran inside and grabbed my camera and look at this beauty. They are huge already. Can't believe it. The birdie on the left was flapping its wings. A sign of them ready to fly. I have plans on keeping the nest once they are gone. I am also going to make a mini album with the pictures I have been taking. I have the perfect album for the pictures, it is a bird chip board album bought at Michaels last year. So glad I did not get rid of it. I will post the pictures of the album once I finish it. Click on the picture to see them closer.

3rd post today

It is looking alot like Easter around here. I had decorated my home at the end of March not realizing that Easter fell this year at almost the end of April. I was about to take all the decorations down until yesterday. I went shopping with my Mom and I came across these bunnies and accessories from Anna Lee on sale. I purchased them at TJ Maxx. I love that store. I could shop their forever. I spent 2 hours just going aisle by aisle.

This chicken in the egg taking a shower has to be one of my favorite. I love it. Look at the those eyes.

This bunny is super nice. It is all glittered.

I also bought these 2 boxes for my scrap room. They are super nice and pretty. Best of all they are perfect for my shelves and very spacious.

Award and new layout

This afternoon when I opened my mailbox I had an envelope. When I looked inside it was a certificate from The Community Blood Centers of South Florida. I was so excited that it had a certificate of appreciation that I have donated 4 gallons so far.

I have also been scrapping pictures lately. This layout is of my oldest daughters graduation. She did not like any of them so I am scrapping the proofs. These pictures are with her best friend.

new birdie

Well one of the birdies is out. Yes, one of the eggs has hatched. The mom left the nest I guess to get some food, so my husband took advantage and put fresh water and food for her. Within that time he called me so that I could see it and take a picture. I was able to capture these. Not really good ones but atleast I got some. Half the body is still in the egg. It seems like it must have just hatched. Now we will wait for the other one to hatch. what an experience this has been. We have been anxiously waiting for the eggs to hatch.

several updates

Hello my blogger friends. Just wanted to post about a couple of things going on. First off the new family that has moved in unexpectedly. Yes, the birdie. Here are some pictures I took of her eggs when she was gone.  When she is gone we place water in her basket and put some bird food for her. This way she does not have to abandon her eggs.

Secondly, I have done some layouts with pictures. Yes, Pictures. Here are a few I did in one day. I can't believe I did this in one day. Well the layout with the birdhouse I had done about a year ago and had put it away in a plastic box with a few more that I plan  to also add pictures to.

Here are my girls from way back at the park. They are running down a hill and you know what that meant. Of course they ended up rolling down.
This picture is of my youngest also at the park. She is now 19 and lives away with dad going to college.
And this is a page of my husband and I at a sports bar 2 years ago for my 42nd birthday. I sprayed glimmer mist on the page in both pink and blue. I cut out the flowers and then added some felt flowers. The page says carefree, fun and laughter. This is how I feel when I am with my hubby. I am definitely carefree, laugh alot and have lots of fun with him.

I am sure you all remember this layout from a previous post. As I was looking through pictures I came across these 2 of my kids  (now 21 and 19) playing hopscotch. After debating for a while I decided why do I want to continue creating layouts and not adding pictures, so I decided to add them. I could not find another picture of them so for now I will leave the other matt blank. Maybe I will find another picture, if not I will journal.

And lastly I have donated platelets again today. Since the beginning of the year I have donated 8 times. I hope you all can find it in your hearts to do the same. It doesn't matter what you donate, whole blood, platelets or plasma, but just do something. Their are lots of children and adults that need them on a daily basis and their is not enough for everyone. So save a life.

Birds Nest

OK, this has nothing to do with scrapping but thought it would be cute to post. Last night as I was watering my plants (every other day routine) I noticed some twigs in one of my hanging plants. So since I did not have the lights on outside I decide to stick my hand in the plant and clean it out. Mind you it had been raining here and super windy these last few days. As I was moving my hand towards the plants this thing flew out at me and around my head. I dropped the hose and just froze. Well in my hanging basket I have a birds nest. I turned on the lights and called my husband and we noticed 3 or 4 eggs in the nest. I continued watering the rest of the plants, turned off the lights and sat in the rocking chair to see it the mom would come back. But no luck. All night I thought about the poor eggs and hoped that the mom would not abandone her babies. This morning I went outside and noticed the mom sitting on her baby eggs. So I just had to get my camera and take a picture, well a few. After about 30 minutes sitting outside I notice another bird came and sat at the edge of the basket. I would imagine it is the dad, so I took my camera out again and took a picture of him. Of course when I took a step closer it flew away. But I am glad that atleast I got one of him.

Ok so I leave you with natures beauty. I know the pictures are not the best but I did not want to get too close and scare them away.

My husband and I were planning to change the old brown yucky things that you put in baskets, but for now it will have to wait. One of GODS creatures has taken over the plant. Notice the basket in the back has a new one of those things. I have been changing them out. But not this one.

Onesies

OK, so I finally got around to taking pictures of the onesies I had done with my friend Dayami. I am really bad about taking the pictures and having to download them into my computer. They are double sided. When I posted them in the blog they came out side by side, but I guess because of the blog layout they are not coming out that way once I save it.

  I hope you like them.

I will be selling these for $18.00 each. These are my samples. But if you want one just email me at anallanes@bellsouth.net and tell me what color you would like.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment on what you think.
