Happy Memorial Day

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day. I know I am. I have been outside with my dog Roscoe and my husband. We do not have a pool, but we do have a kiddie pool for our dog. Hopefully next year we will for now this will have to do.

Here is our dog playing in his pool. He thinks he is swimming. He paddles as if he was moving. It is the funniest thing.

Look at that face? Is he not the cutest?

These are my 2 favorite boys in the hole wide world. Love them both.

Pictures on Layouts?

Its official. I am going to put photos on my layouts. I have about 140 two page layouts that  have no pictures. So , I am going to get in the swing of things and start filling them with photos of my girls and family. I don't know what I was thinking when I was making them. But, I can tell you that at least I have them in albums. Now my mission is to find pictures to suit the layouts. LOL.

Here are 2 layouts I have had for about 2 years and finally found pictures I wanted to put in them. I did this on friday night when Mercy at http://mercyspages.blogspot.com/ came over to scrap. By the way go to her blog she is having a giveaway.

This is the HORSING AROUND layout. My oldest daughter had gone on vacation with her grandparents to California to visit her uncle. They had just purchased this horse. At first she was scared of it, but she quickly over came the fear and every day looked forward to riding and feeding her.
Here is my youngest at the beach. She loves the beach.  This layout is called WHALE OF A GOOD TIME.

I will be back with more layouts and pictures on them. I hope you enjoy them and leave a comment letting me know what you think.

another haul

Can you believe I went to Bravo again? A scrappy friend Marlene you can find her work here (http://www.uniquelyella.blogspot.com/) and I went and had a blast. She is so funny and nice. Such a sweet heart. Well she went cray buying goodies, like we call them. Our husbands beg to differ, they call them more junk. LOL. They say we are hoarders. I tend to agree a little. Marlene says that we are investing for our future. Her theory is that we need to buy now that we can afford it because when we get to our retirement we will not be able to afford anything, especially that they say we will not have any retirement with the way the things are going. That is too funny. Of course when she told my husband he did not buy it. I do have to agree with him, we are hoarders. BUT I STAND PROUD WITH THAT NAME TAG.

Ok, back to the Haul.  All of you that like beading have to go. I am personally not a bead girl but you can't beat the price and I really love the pins you could make with them. Marlene is going to teach me how to make the pins and told me to buy some of the things I did. She said I would need them. REMEMBER EVERYTHING YOU SEE WAS .80 cents.

So here is my buy:

Look at these adorable pins. I had to get them. I plan on putting the bear with the baby bear on one of my paper piecing layouts, if it does not look to bulky. The other pin has a tea pot and two cups hanging, I bought that one thinking of the layout I just finished with the little girls having tea outdoors. You can see my layout in my previous post.
These adorable frames, roses and animales are from K & Company. They are so cute. They are flat on the back. The packaging says they are charmers. Super cute.

2 new layouts

I have been working on some layouts of my girls. .

This is my oldest daughter Christal. She was probably 3 in this picture. She is now 22 years old.

I saw a layout on the internet with a frog that said toadally cute and thought it would be perfect for this picture. The letters are from doodle bug (glittered) and very messy. I have glitter all over myself. The frog I drew myself. The tree was a template of mine. I traced it on this paper and cut it out. I don't know if you could see them, but the tree has 3 butterflies on it.
Here is a close up of her posing her new bikini.

This is my Natalie. She is going to be 20 this year in September. I have no idea what she is holding in her hands. It looks like a dragon lizard. But I thought it was disgusting. She found it at the beach and thought she should pick it up. She has no fear. I don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing. I put a flower around the THING to have it pop out. I played around with lots of different letters and tags from my stash.  I think the title was perfect for this layout. Don't you think?

lampshades

This is what I have been working on for the past two days. Well it really only took a couple of hours. I saw a video on youtube and loved what the girl did with a lampshade. Her youtube channel is cynthialoowho (with a heart at the end of her name). I was so intrigued that I decided to spice my boring lampshades.
I hope you like them. I think they look really cute.

This lamp shade I wrapped twice on the bottom with a lace trim then covered it with another trim that looks like a braid. I then added the same lace on top and put another trim over that also has a sort of braid and loops. I then added 3 butterflies and some bling.
It definitely has made a big difference from what I had before. If you want to see the way it looked before go to my last post which has the pictures of my scraproom.
This lamp I wanted to just cover it all with lace. The bottom half has a wider lace than the top one. I put another trim on top in hot pink to give it some extra color.
Here is how it looks put together on my dresser. It looks so cute. I really like the way they have turned out.

latest layout

This is the latest layout I have done. I worked on it while also organizing my room. It was a really difficult one. I had a hard time with the table. I wanted the table cloth to look real but for some reason it would not look right. After about 3 days back and forth  I was finally able to get it the way I wanted it to look. The tree has about 125 leaves. I punched them out using different pattern papers and glued them down. Some are popped up. The little girls dresses and aprons are made using fabric.

I found this stand at a garage sale. It was brand new with its tags hanging on it. I got it for $1.00.

updated scraproom

Well I have been working on my scraproom for weeks now. It is not 100% complete because I have something more I'd like to do with the desk, just not sure, so for now I will leave it as it is.

Here is the desk area before:
Here is the new desk. It has a plexi glass on it for now, until I decide if I want a glass or a full piece of the plexi glass. The before desk had legs holding each table,  this desk only has two legs and the pieces on the left side holding the top. I really wanted to get rid of all the legs. Looks so much cleaner and neater.

This picture is what you see when you first walk into the room. The 2 bottom cubes hold some of my pattern papers which I rarely use. The ones over those holds my ribbons, which I had shared in an earlier post. The ones with the four drawers holds my extra stickles, pictures, cats eyes, chalks and extra tools which I barely ever use. The two cubes with the doors have my slice machine, knick knack I collect and my light. The boxes on top have my rubber stamps, clear stamps and embossing powders and tool. I am not a stamper so I never use any of these things.

This is a piece I found at a garage sale. I had it in my previous home. I hung my apron and a sign my husband made for me and 2 crosses. For some reason I have been into purchasing crosses.

Here is the comfy chair I also found at a garage sale. I put it in my room so that my husband can sit in here with me and be comfortable. It is really big. The piece of furniture next to it, is from my sister. I was looking for something slim and tall and she had it in her bathroom. She did not hesitate to give it to me. I love it. It is country looking and that was exactly what I wanted to put with the country chair. That piece has my inks, glimmer mist, craft stuff, cards, and beads.
Here are four shelves I have from Ikea. As you can see they hold alot of stuff. I have in the bins, paper pack 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 (not used much), all different types of embellishments, fabrics and mini albums.
Here you can see my computer. I love it. It was my anniversary gift last October. Still learning, but love what I can do with it. Also my Expression 2.
A closer look at my desk. As you can see it has two pieces of plexi glass on it until I decide what I want.
This is my back station. I hang my latest layouts on the top. Hubby made this for me. I love the fact that I can display my latest projects. The station holds my Mac, my cricuts ( I bought that piece at a garage sale this weekend so that I can put one cricut on top of the other),  my clip it up and cuttlebug.
Here I have my cardstock, pattern papers and paper packs. Also have paints and some other embellishments. And another piece of furniture my husband made for me for my circut cartridges. It holds 70 cartridges. Of course, now I need to figure out where to put the new ones I purchase.
This is another picture of the desk from the other side. I love all the space I now have.
These green crates hold cardstock. The bottom one has 81/2 by 11 and the top one has the 12 x 12's. As I have them seperated by colors. My scraps I put in page protectors also by colors. I always go to my scraps before taking a new sheet.  I use alot of cardstock for my layouts, since most of my pages are paper piecing.
This is my clip it up, which I clean regularly. Whenever I buy a new item I usually hang it here. But since it is so full I have to take something out.
This pink piece was also made by my husband. He even painted it pink. When I saw the making memories embellishment center I knew I had to have it. But the more I saw it the less I knew I wanted it. I knew it would not be functional for what I neede it for. I wanted it to hold my flowers. I have my flowers here by colors in the large and in small target jars. I needed more space for other embellishment so my husband put these little curled screws for me and I have these boxes and buckets hanging with more embellishments.
This is where I display my latest layouts or projects.
Closer look at my shelves with boxes and buckets.
This is definitely one of my longest posts, but I hope it was all well worth it. I know I had fun taking the pictures and showing you all where I create. I hope it helps some of you to organize your rooms.

scrapbooking haul

Hello bloggers.

Last week I found an ad in the Flyer about a warehouse that sells beads. I had told my husband that I wanted to go to let me know how to get their. This morning at about 11:30am, he shows up from work and tells me to get dressed that he was going to take me . It literally took me 10 minutes to get dressed and I was out the door. I do not play around when he tells me lets go. LOL.

Here are the pictures of the goodies I bought. They are not a scrapbooking store but they have things that can be used for scrapbooking.

They are located in Miami. You just have to call and let them know you want to go and shop.

These are the goodies I bought.

The information to the place:
Bravo International
6970 NW 51 Street
Miami, FL 33166

The best part, each item was .80 cents. Can't go wrong with that price. I bought 60 pieces, so I spent $48.00 dollars.
